Finding Programming Help on the Internet

Sometimes when you run into a programming problem you need a little help to get moving again. You can quickly find that help on the Internet (at a reasonable price).

Rentacoder.com is a really helpful website. It is similar to eLance.com, but it specializes more in programming and coding while eLance.com covers more general services such as writing, translation, legal, accounting, etc.

It is more difficult to register on Rentacoder than on eLance. Apparently, Rentacoder has been burned by credit card fraud so you must take additional steps to validate your card for payment. The sign up process consists of the usual completion of the sign up form, setting up your credit card as the payment method, scanning or faxing both sides of the card to Rentacoder, and then receiving a phone call from Rentacoder validating the card. This is handled quickly and efficiently.

One reason for using Rentacoder over eLance is the minimum project cost on eLance is $50.00 and Rentacoder does not have a minimum.

Lets discuss how to use Rentacoder.

Once you have established an account on Rentacoder and validated your credit card, you are ready to post projects for coders to bid on. This is a simple process of completing the input form for the bid. You must state the specifications for the job in as much detail as possible so the coders who will enter bids can understand the job and enter the most accurate bid possible.

You then specify the computer operating system on which the program or script will run.

The deliverables are important so both parties understand exactly what is expected as the output for the project. Rentacoder has standard language for deliverables to help you with this part of the project creation as follows:

Deliverables:

All deliverables must be uploaded to Rent A Coder before the deadline(s) for this project...with no exceptions. If this contract makes it impossible for a competent person to do this, then do not start this project...but instead alert Rent A Coder of an un-arbitratable, illegal project.

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--

3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).

When you have entered all the information, post the job and wait for the responses (bids). You will be surprised how quickly you will receive bids and how reasonable most of them will be.

Rentacoder is a great resource for any coding or programming project on which you need help. There are many capable programmers available through the Internet who can help you at a very competitive price. Dont let a small coding project stop you when help is so easy to find at a reasonable price on Rentacoder.

7 Benefits You Will Enjoy By Starting A Home Based Business Today

There is no question the internet has changed the business world, forever, and in many ways for the better.

Because of the many rewards that starting a home based business offers, more and more people are searching for ways to leave the rat race, spend more time with their families and lead a lucrative, freedom filled lifestyle.

Working from home can offer all of the above, with hard work and persistence. Just do not expect instant riches.

Here are some of the benefits you can expect from starting a successful home based business.

1. Feel More Freedom - There is no greater feeling than knowing you have an endless amount of freedom with your job. Starting a home based business gives you all the power and freedom to go with your business as you choose to. I personally, work when I choose. I work my own hours and if I want to take a day off I don't need to phone the boss.

2. Choose Your Own Business - Having the freedom to do what you want also includes you being able to choose what type of home based business you would like to start. While you have the power to choose anything you want, obviously you do want to pick a business that has potential. Try and start a home business that you are interested in and also has appeal from society.

3. Create Your Own Schedule - When you start your home based business, you have the power of creating your schedule. There is no question that starting a home business requires a great deal of time and effort to build it up. However, you can now take those family vacations whenever you want, and you can stay longer if you want as well.

4. Less Stress - Everything that has been mentioned thus far seems to be stress free, and that is one of the biggest advantages people find with starting a work from home business. You may encounter stress getting the business going since you are the boss, the marketer, the writer, and salesman. However, you can go at your own pace and set your own deadlines, which takes a great load of stress off of your back.

5. No Commuting or Work Uniforms - Although this may seem irrelevant, the ability to wake up and be at your job right away eliminates some of the stress as well. You can wear whatever attire you choose to and you don't have to worry about dealing with traffic to get to work.

6. Tax Breaks - On the business part, you will enjoy many tax advantages with starting a home based business. You now can deduct your home, business vacations, cars and business meals. Any losses that you incur can be tax deductible making tax season a lot less stressful. ALWAYS consult your accountant first though before taking any decisions in this area.

7. Multiple Revenue Streams - Lastly, many times when you work through an employer you are set on one task and only get ONE paycheck. With an online home business you have the possibility of taking on a number of different tasks keeping your job interesting and intriguing and building multiple income streams. This is powerful!

The amount of people starting a home based business continues to grow every day, and it is obvious why this is so. There are many more benefits you will enjoy by starting a home business, this is a just a small sampling to encourage to take that all important first step.

The greatest benefit of all of course is that you actually become your own boss.

I'm Feeling Very Mortgage Inadequate

Right now I'm feeling very inadequate. You know! It's that feeling you get when you've just let someone down. As Mortgage Professionals we have all experienced it. I just couldn't help. Here's the whole agonizing story from the very beginning...

Last Summer, Canadian Kyle MacDonald, an unemployed writer, set off on a quest to turn one red paper clip into a house, by swapping it for items that were bigger or better.

Based on a game called Bigger and Better (I don't remember that one when I was a kid) that he played as a child, MacDonald decided he would use his creativity and the power of the internet to trade up from one item to another, starting only with one red paperclip, to ultimately trade for his goal...a house.

MacDonald set up a web blog to trade his one red paperclip on July 12th, 2005 and he made his first trade for a pen (in the shape of a fish) on July 14.Well, it took Kyle 14 internet trades, and exactly one year to move from the red paper clip to a house on Main Street in the tiny town of Kipling in Saskatchewan province, Canada - a place he has never been to before.

Kyle's initial trade swapped the paperclip for a pen in Vancouver, the pen became a doorknob, which was traded for a portable barbecue, then swapped for a generator, to become a full beer keg and neon Budweiser sign in New York. A snowmobile followed which was then traded for a trip to Yahn in the Canadian Rockies? He swapped that for a 1995 Ford Van which was then traded for a recording contract which became one year rent-free in Phoenix. An afternoon with Alice Cooper followed, then a snow globe, a Hollywood movie role in Donna on Demand for a two-storey, three-bedroom, 1920s farmhouse on the town's Main Street in rural Kipling.

Kyle's new home community, which is named after the famed British author and poet Rudyard Kipling and is home to New York Times list award-winning romance novelist Mary Balogh, seems like the ideal place to crank out his life's story, which is scheduled to hit store shelves next summer. He successfully parlayed this whole adventure into a book deal with Random House and a movie deal with DreamWorks.

You can go to Google maps and key in the address: 530 Main Street, Kipling Saskatchewan to view the property.

His book, to be published in four different languages, will contain new material about his bartering experience. He said he was approached by about 40 book publishers and 50 production companies who were interested in his story.

Again, I feel terrible that as a Mortgage Professional, I couldn't help Kyle secure a home mortgage. Of course, being unemployed didn't help much. To tell the truth, I really don't originate mortgages in Canada. Plus, all of my lenders had already reached their quota and all of their free mortgages had already been allocated.

Congratulations Kyle MacDonald on a job well done. Quite a return on investment...one red paperclip for a house. Only in America...well actually, North America!

How To Install SharePoint 2007 Beta 2

Following are the detailed instructions on how to install SharePoint 2007 Beta 2 on a clean version of Windows 2003. These instructions were done by completing the installation on a Virtual Server 2005 machine that was NOT joined to a domain. I have seen a lot of articles that say the server has to be joined to a domain but that is not a requirement. Below are the detailed installation instructions for SharePoint 2007 Beta 2 on Windows 2003 using SQL Server 2005 on the same machine:

Install Windows 2003 and update the machine with the latest Services Packs and hotfixes from Microsoft by using the "Windows Update" utility.

Create a local machine account to run SQL Server and SharePoint with. Make sure that this account is set to be an administrator on the local machine and that it is set to not have the password expire or to change the password on the first login.

* If you are doing the installation on a server joined to a domain you can use a domain account that is set as an administrator on the local machine

* To create a new local machine account go to Start and right click on "My Computer". Select "Manage" from the list that appears and the "Computer Management" snap-in appears. Expand "Local Users and Groups" and right click on the "Users" folder. Select "New User" and fill in the appropriate information.

Insert the SQL Server 2005 into the machine and make sure that "Autoplay" is enabled so the initial installation screen appears.

From the initial screen select "Choose to Install components"

Click the "Accept terms" checkbox on the license screen that appears and then click "Next"

Click "Install" on the next screen that appears.

Once the process to install "Native Client and Microsoft SQL Server 2005 setup support files" has completed click "Next".

Scanning of the system hardware will occur next.

On the screen that appears after the hardware scan is complete click "Next".

When the system configuration check has completed click "Next".

On the registration page enter the Name, Company and product key and click "Next".

Select the components that should be installed.

You will need SQL Server Database Services, Workstation and Client components; and may want to install Books Online and development tools.

You can click the "Advanced" button and select the specific components that you would like to install. Click "Next".

Click "Default instance name" checkbox on the instance name screen and click "Next".

On the next screen choose what account will run SQL Server 2005. Specify the information for the domain/local account you created earlier to run SQL Server in the appropriate boxes. Make sure the "Use a domain user account" radio button is checked.

Click SQL server and SQL Server Agent check boxes at the bottom of the screen. Click "Next".

On the next screen choose to use Mixed Mode authentication. You can change this after the SharePoint setup is complete.

On the collations screen leave the defaults and click "Next".

On the "Error and Usage Report Settings" screen leave the defaults and click "Next".

On the "Ready to Install" screen click "Install".

The setup process will run and you will see the setup progress screen.

When the setup completes click "Next". Then click "Finish".

Set the Sharepoint account that you created earlier, it can be the same account that is used to run SQL Server, to be have Database Creator, sysadmin and security admin rights on SQL server.

Next install Windows Workflow extensions. You will need to make sure that it is version 3807.7 build or higher.

The 3807.7 version can be downloaded here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=5c080096-f3a0-4ce4-8830-1489d0215877&DisplayLang=en#Instructions. You need to make sure that you install the Runtime Components download that is appropriate for your system if you dont have Visual Studio 2005 installed on your machine.

Double click on the install file for Windows Workflow.

Click "Ok" on the license screen that appears.

Install IIS on the sever and make sure ASP 2.0 is installed on IIS. If you are not sure you can run the aspnet_regiis I from within the 2.0 folder. The default install location is C:\windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\V2.0.50727.

* To install IIS on the server go to the "Control Panel" and double click on "Add\Remove Programs". Click on "Add/Remove Windows Components" and in the window that appears check the box next to "Application Server".

Highlight "Application Server" and click on the "Details" button. Make sure that the check boxes next to "ASP .NET" and "Internet Information Services (IIS)" are checked. Click OK and then click "Next".

Insert the SharePoint 2007 Beta 2 disk into the server.

If the disk doesn't autoplay, run setup.bat on the disk.

Enter the product key on the appropriate screen. Click "Continue".

Click the check box that you except the terms of use. Click "Continue".

You will need to choose if you are going to install SharePoint 2007 as standalone single server, this will install SQL Desktop Express, or the advanced version which can be for a single server or a server farm.

You will need SQL Server 2000 SP3 or SQL Server 2005 for the Advanced version. We will do the advanced version in this process on SQL Server 2005. Click "Advanced".

On the next screen you can choose from three options. We will be installing on a single server and SQL Server 2005 so we will choose the first options "Complete Intall all components. Can add servers to form a SharePoint farm." because the last option will install the desktop database engine which we dont want to install. On the file location tab you can pick the installation location on the server.

Click "Install Now".

Make sure the "Run the SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard now." is checked and click "Close".

When the Configuration Wizard appears click "Next".

Click "Yes" on the pop-up window that appears about restarting services on the server.

Click the "No, I want to create a new server farm" as we dont have an existing 2007 SharePoint installation.

On the Specify Configuration Database settings screen specify the name of the server. If you used above the options above in the SQL Server setup this will be the name of the server you are installing SharePoint 2007 on.

Leave the configuration database name as it is.

Enter the username and password of the account that you created earlier in the setup process.

Click "Next".

Leave the default options on the screen that appears and click "Next".

On the next screen that appears click "Next".

Sharepoint will then complete 9 configuration tasks.

Once the tasks are completed you will be redirected to the Sharepoint Administration page.

Types Of Autoresponders For Internet Marketing

There are several autoresponders available on the Internet, although they are divided into three main types remotely hosted, locally hosted, and desktop hosted. For many Internet marketers, locally and desktop hosted are far preferred over remotely hosted. Although remote hosted are good, locally and desktop hosted autoresponders will allow you complete control as you are running the program on your own site.

If you have a domain name, you can use as many autoresponders as you like, all of which will match your domain name. When you use a remotely hosted program, you wont be able to use your domain name with the autoresponder. Instead, youll receive an address from the provider that resembles their link. This can be great for some, although many prefer to have their own domain names listed in the autoresponder.

If you use your own domain name with your autoresponder, you can normally keep it secret that you are using an autoresponder. When you send out emails using your autoresponder, it will display your website email, making it very hard to detect an autoresponder. This can be a great way to use your autoresponder, especially if you dont want your customers to know that you are using one.

If you use a remotely hosted autoresponder, those you send messages to with notice that you are using an autoresponder. You should think of this from their prospective if you were their customer, you probably wouldnt want to receive messages from an autoresponder. Instead, you would want to receive your emails and messages from someone real, giving you complete individual attention.

If you are just starting out with your company and happen to be on a tight budget, a remotely hosted autoresponder may very well be the best solution. You can use it until you get more money and get back on track, although you shouldnt use it long term. Remotely hosted programs can get expensive very quickly; as the monthly charges will add it quick each month you use the program.

You can find remotely hosted autoresponders all over the Internet; all you have to do is run a search through a search engine like Google or Yahoo. One of the best on the net is www.automatic-responder.com - Once you have found a website you can read more about them and what they have to offer. If you like what you see, all youll need to do is sign up and then you begin using their services with a remotely hosted autoresponder.

Although locally hosted autoresponders are preferred, they do have disadvantages. Some types will limit how many domains you can install them on. If the vendor doesnt provide free installation, you could have a problem installing the script, as most require some degree of technical experience. Although you have complete control over the program, locally hosted programs dont have as many features as remotely hosted programs.

Desktop hosted autoresponders are also great, although they too have disadvantages. Some types will limit how many copies you can install on different computers. To get the most from them, youll need a computer that is always connected to the Internet. Youll also need some experience to set them up, and they arent recommended for those who have large mailing lists.

Although there are 3 main types of autoresponders, the type you choose should depend on your website and your needs. Whats the best idea for you may be completely useless to someone else. When you make your final decision, you should always decide on what you need for your company then pick an autoresponder that works best for you.

Genuine Work At Home Opportunities So You Can Quit Your Day Job

There are a number of ways to make money online, but relatively few of these openings will pay you enough money so that you can quit your job and work from home full time. They allow you the flexibility to do what you want, when you want and still earn the same amount or even more money than you did at your old job.

Although, many may be skeptical about how one can make money online, there are a few options that one looking to work online can choose from.

Freelancing as a writer or programmer and designer can often earn one tens of thousands of dollars annually, especially if you are well trained and have the skills and the marketing "know how" so that you can constantly find clients.

Affiliate programs where you are paid to promote the products of many companies are also another great way to earn money online. Obviously, if you can create your own product and promote it, that would be the ideal situation as you would be able to keep all revenue that you earn rather than just 10% or 20% of the total sale value.

Still, the most popular way that those who work online are earning a stable income is through the creation of web sites and the sale of advertisement space and the use of programs such as Google AdSense or the Yahoo Publisher network.

CONTEXT FREELANCING

For those who have worked to hone their skills in writing or web site design and creation, freelancing is probably the best online job opportunity. It allows them to run all aspects of their business from finding clients, completing the work, and/or subcontracting the work. Although this may be more work than if you worked in a team with a group of people, as a solo freelancer, you keep all of the money you make, rather than splitting it among the members/employees of your company. There are a numbers of freelance opportunities available today.

Content Writing
If you love to write and have strong writing skills, you should seriously consider offering a content writing service where you provide articles for magazines and web sites to publish.

Forum Posting
Forum posting is also another option. It involves contacting the owner of a new forum and to see if they are willing to pay for posts to help get their forum off the ground and boost activity. The best way to get a steady job forum posting is to visit webmaster forums where many of these owners are often searching for posters.

Webmaster forums are also a great place to find content writing jobs, but there are many other web sites that offer an up to date list of the latest content writing opportunities and thus these sites should be utilized as well. A content writer or forum poster who puts the time required to be successful into working can earn up to six figures annually.

Article Submission Service

Article Submission and Directory Submission is also a way that many freelancers can earn some extra money on the side. It involves submitting a web site to numerous web directories or submitting an article to many article directories. The purpose of this service is to help webmasters gain links to their web site.

Link Building Service

Direct link building is a great way that those who either own a large network of web sites or know someone who does can earn thousands online. Link building requires one to obtain back links to their client's web sites on other 3rd part sites. Link builders are usually paid at a flat rate per link that they secure and payment can range from $2-$10 a link and beyond.

Web design and Programming

Finally, for those who are familiar with web site design and programming, freelancers in the web site creation industry can get paid anywhere from $500 to $10,000 and more for a project depending on the amount of work required. This is one of the most lucrative online opportunities available, but to be successful, you will need to get the proper training so that clients are satisfied with your work and you are hired to take on larger, better compensating projects.

AFFILIATE MARKETING

Affiliate programs are another very popular way to make money online. One can create a web site and put utilize space on their web site by advertising a certain product. The advertisement will be a link to an eStore where the product is being sold, and if an affiliate is able to drive a customer to the eStore, the owner of the eStore will pay the affiliate a certain percentage of the sale. Many major companies, such as eBay, Sears, Wal-Mart, and hundreds of others that sell products online have affiliate programs.

To sign up for one of these programs, you should visit and sign up with Click Bank and Commission Junction. These are the two web sites that most companies who have affiliate programs use to keep track of earnings, and to be able to participate in affiliate programs, you will have to be a member of one of these two web sites. Recently, many affiliates are using pay per click advertising program such as Google AdWords where they pay a certain amount of money for each visitor who clicks on the advertisement. The advertisement is an affiliate link so if the one clicks on the link makes a purchase, you can earn money through affiliate programs without even creating a web site.

RUNNING WEBSITES

Finally, we reach the most popular way of making money online, running web sites. The key to building a successful web site is coming up with a new fresh idea so that you will draw traffic.

Once you have got an idea, the first thing you need to do is secure hosting at a popular and reliable web host, such as GoDaddy or BlueHost. You can sign up for an account and pay for a certain hosting plan. The more you pay, the larger a web site you can create and the larger your bandwidth is. If you are unsure about all the technical aspects of running and hosting a web site, you should check with your web hosting provider what plan is best for you and your needs. Your host will also help you get a domain and transfer all files to get your site up and running.

Once you have a site live on the Internet and you are marketing it and drawing traffic, it is time to think about monetization. With a web site, you can either sell your own products that customers can purchase online or create a website for a service, such as the ones mentioned above. Those who may not have as much time, often opt to create a web site, get traffic, and use a program such as Google AdSense where they are paid each time a visitor clicks on an advertisement. Webmasters may also sell links to advertisers directly to earn more revenue from their web site.

There are a lot of great online opportunities available on the Internet, and if you are willing to put in the time and effort requires, you can make enough to quit your regular full time job and work from home online.

Olsons Fourth Bid To Represent The Tampa Schools

The Tampa schools are part of the Hillsborough County School Board, and Candy Olson has represented the south Tampa schools for 12 years. The nonpartisan District 2 covers the south Tampa schools and curves into part of southwest Hillsborough County. Olson has twice been chairman of the school board.

The 58-year-old mother of two has faced challengers only once during her three previous bids for her school board seat. This year she faces two challengers, who want to represent the south Tampa schools Logan Cobb, a 17-year-old high school senior, and Bart Birdsall, a middle school media specialist. According to the Tampa Tribune, neither challenger for the south Tampa schools has raised much capital or waged much of a campaign against Olson.

During the 12 years Olson has represented the south Tampa schools, she has seen the district grow by more than 50,000 students. It is now the nations ninth largest school district. She has helped decide hundreds of policies and personnel decisions, many of which affect the Tampa schools, and has seen the district managed by three different superintendents.

With a masters degree in business administration, Olsons pet peeve is to reduce the myriad of forms used by the district and the bureaucratic paperwork a goal that continues to elude her.

During her tenure, Olson pushed the district to develop a school choice plan to give parents more options, which was implemented in 2004. She fostered partnerships between local libraries and schools, including those in south Tampa schools area and the Natures Classroom, an outdoor classroom for science study. She has been supportive of teachers issues, speaking out or bucking popular thought, when necessary. Though she comes on strong at times, she admittedly has learned to hold her tongue from the dais, especially when someone makes (what she considers) a dumb comment to her.

Two issues are pending before the board for this school year. One is whether to add more religious holidays to the school calendar. The second, a more controversial issue, is whether to make a policy that restricts soda and unhealthy foods in schools. The district currently needs to renegotiate their PepsiCo contract; however, they would like more discussion on this issue before proceeding.

Olson believes the most important priorities for the board this year continues to be student achievement, growth and developing a plan to reach children of uninvolved parents.

Olson is a former director of finance and planning for the Drug Abuse Comprehensive Coordinating Office in Tampa and information officer for the Boston Mayors office. According to the Tribune, she has raised nearly $20,000 in reported campaign contributions and loans, mostly from lawyers, educators and current district administrators. She is endorsed by the Hillsborough Classroom Teachers Association.

Patricia Hawke is a staff writer for Schools K-12, providing free, in-depth reports on all U.S. public and private K-12 schools. For more information on Tampa schools visit http://www.schoolsk-12.com/Florida/Tampa/index.htmlGarrett Blog20429

Want To Start A Website? The Basics...

In this day and age, possessing a presence on the Internet is a common approach to the ever-changing trends regarding personal, social, and business ventures. For some, one can navigate the ins and outs of the World Wide Web in their sleep, while others need to familiarize themselves with the basics. When it comes to starting your own website, there are certain fundamental aspects of the process that are necessary for anyone to know. Below you will find the building blocks that will help you create your own site on the Web:

Domain Name

After you have decided the purpose of your website, you will need to come up with a domain name. This is the identity that people will encounter when searching for or visiting your site. As you think long and hard about what to call your site, you should know that many domain names are already taken. Depending on your website aim, you may be able to tweak letters, use numbers, or change the spelling in order to distinguish yourself from other websites. The domain name should also be easy to spell and remember. Before you fall in love with the name of your choice, you may check to see if it is taken by sneaking a peak at a "whois" Internet directory.

Domain Name Registration

To lay your claim on an available domain name, you must pay a fee to have it registered. Depending on the extension you choose or who you pay to register your domain, you could disburse varying costs from $9.99 to more than $500 per year. Some of the domain extensions to consider include .com, .net, or. org.

Web Hosting

After your domain name becomes registered, you will need to find a web host. A host is a server that allows you to store the data of your website so you may access it whenever you wish. Comparison shopping will prove beneficial in locating the best price for you. There are tons of web hosts looking to take advantage of unsuspecting, new web owners.

Website Publishing

In order to publish your site, you may need the help of tutorials and website wizards to assist you in creating your online presence. While some people spend time learning HTML or CSS, others turn to the ease of ready-made templates that allow consumers to simply type in their own information while enjoying a pre-scripted visual arrangement. Major businesses and those who desire a unique look for their site will hire a professional to generate their website. A variety of applications are used in this process, including Adobe GoLive, Macromedia Flash, and Dreamweaver. Some people may also create a simple page through Microsoft Word.

While the above concepts are quite basic when starting a website, others will prove more challenging. Promoting a site and generating traffic now becomes a common issue. Your next step will be to learn the ropes of getting your site listed with major search engines; marketing; and driving traffic to your site.

Great Ideas For Baby Shower Decorations

Being a party consultant can be a busy career. People who want help for special occasions such as birthdays, weddings, Christmas, and other holiday parties call me every time. A few of them even need help for baby shower decorations. Only a few people have enough experience for this type of party because baby showers are not celebrated as often as the annual occasions like Christmas or birthdays. Most people only go to one or two baby showers in their lifetime and some people never even get to attend one at all. This means that baby shower decorations would often require more planning than other kinds of parties.

Because baby showers are few and far between, people who need assistance for baby shower decorations have few expectations. People would also not expect to have an extravagant baby shower as oppose to what they would expect to have on more significant occasions like a graduation or a wedding. This gives you the freedom to come up with ideas on how elaborate you want a party to be, how much attention you need to devote to decorations, and the general theme for the baby shower. What is Cyberstalking?

Protection from Cyberstalking

Computers and the Internet are becoming indispensable parts of America's culture, and cyberstalking is a growing threat.

What is Cyberstalking? Cyberstalking can be defined as threatening behavior or unwanted advances directed at another using the Internet and other forms of online and computer communications. Cyberstalking occurs when electronic mediums such as the Internet are used to pursue, harass or contact another in an unsolicited fashion. Internet CyberStalking is used to slander and endanger victims, taking on a public rather than private dimension.

Cyberstalking is the term used to describe stalking behavior undertaken by way of computer. Although no universal definition exists, cyberstalking occurs when an individual or group uses the Internet to stalk or harass another. Essentially cyberstalking is the act of stalking using the Internet, e-mail, or other electronic communication devices. Everyone who receives e-mail or uses the Internet is susceptible to cyberstalking.

In order to address cyberstalking, it is critical to understand stalking in general. The fact that cyberstalking does not involve physical contact may create the misperception that it is less threatening or dangerous than physical stalking. In many cases, cyberstalking is simply another phase in an overall stalking pattern, or it is regular stalking behavior using new technological tools. Essentially, cyberstalking is an extension of the physical form of stalking.

The anonymity of online interaction reduces the chance of identification and makes cyberstalking more common than physical stalking. The ease of use and non-confrontational, impersonal, and sometimes anonymous nature of Internet communications may remove disincentives to cyberstalking. Although cyberstalking might seem relatively harmless, it can cause victims psychological and emotional harm, and occasionally leads to actual stalking. More disturbingly, pornographers and pedophiles have begun to use cyberstalking as a way of locating new victims.

It is commonly assumed that cyberstalking is not as serious or harmful as real world stalking. It is true that cyberstalking bears little physical resemblance to traditional stalking methods such as following and loitering.

Cyberstalking is a relatively new phenomenon. The stream of data is sketchy, but some insights into cyberstalking trends are emerging. As with regular stalking, cyberstalking often begins when you attempt to break off a relationship. Anecdotal evidence from law enforcement agencies indicates that cyberstalking is a serious, and growing problem.

While cyberstalking has become a worldwide problem, most cases originate in the United States, making Americans the most vulnerable group of targets. It is estimated that there may potentially be tens or even hundreds of thousands of cyberstalking victims in the United States. A common area regarding cyberstalking is at the "edu" sites, which are educational institutes, such as colleges and universities. While, historically, cyberstalking has mostly been men stalking women, the reverse is happening more often as well.

In many instances, cyberstalking is simply another phase in an overall stalking pattern, or it is regular stalking behavior using new, high-technology tools. Keep a record of contact made (in relation to the cyberstalking event) with website administrators, victim support organizations and law enforcement personnel. Often, cyberstalking ventures offline and the cyberstalker may attempt to track down the victim physically. These things are important because online cyberstalking and bullying is increasing, and further, is grossly underreported.

By the use of new technology and equipment which cannot be policed by traditional methods, cyberstalking has replaced traditional methods of stalking and harassment. The investigation of cyberstalking and other computer crimes can be complex. The lack of adequate statutory authority also can limit law enforcement's response to cyberstalking incidents. Out-of-date and missing account, subscriber, and user information, as well as anonymizing tools, presented problems for law enforcement during cyberstalking investigations.

CD Duplication - the Key to Protecting Your Data

CD duplication isn't quite as popular as it once was due to the recent popularity of iPods and other media players. Nonetheless, while fewer people may be saving their music to CDs so they can carry it around, there are still many people who like to make copies of their CDs for backup purposes, especially since Compact Discs can be very susceptible to data corruption due to scratching.

Often people consider CD replication and CD duplication to be the same thing. However, there are some major differences between the two methods. First of all, the CD replication process requires expensive professional quality equipment. Also, since CD replication is a process that is only useful for creating large numbers of copies, it is only legal if the entity doing the replication either has created the data stored on the disc themselves or has the consent of the actual copyright holder. CD duplication, in most cases, does not require the manufacturer's approval as it is done on purchased CDs in single quantities for home use only.

The phrase 'CD duplication' actually refers to a couple of different procedures. The best way to choose the correct one is to take some time to decide one's specific requirements first. One person's requirements might vary from the next person's for a number of reasons. For one thing, what type of files will be copied? Will they be music, images, or data? Or will it be a combination of file types? Once you've determined your personal criteria, you can make an educated decision regarding features, price, etc.

Most people will opt for an inexpensive CD duplication software program. There are tons of these available for download from the Internet, and most offer trial periods where you can familiarize yourself with the product and decide whether or not it's up to your standards before having to fork over any money. These days, most computers include a CD burner and the accompanying software at a minimum, so if you might be getting a new computer soon, you may wish to focus on the CD duplication programs that come with the machines you're considering.

If you want to make one or two copies each of a large number of Compact Discs, then it might behoove you to investigate the possibility of contracting with a CD duplication company. They can even design labels for the discs, and some say they'll provide marketing, but if you need marketing, you might be getting into the realm of replication. Remember that if you're making numerous copies of one disc and offering it for sale, you must either be the copyright owner of have their permission. Otherwise, you may well be charged with software or media piracy. Anyway, a number of these duplication businesses can be found on the Web.

The fact that it's so easy and inexpensive to get cd duplication done is pretty amazing if you stop to think about it. Twenty-five years ago, it cost forty thousand bucks for a CD writer and fifty dollars for one blank disc. Now the writers come for free with every computer and the discs go for pennies!

You, Your Newborn, Your Partner And Your Emotional Rollercoaster

Your first meeting with your baby has a power that moves mountains, it will define the first step in the process of bonding and you will never forget it.

Especially if the delivery was natural, he won't be the cute little thing of diaper ads, she will be all wrinkled like a very old lady, his head will be pointed or weird shaped, she might be all red or has spots, he might have hair that doesn't come with your genetic inheritance. Your baby has come out from a very stressful experience, if you felt bad, can you imagine the pain and fear he went through? If you are like 99% of the mothers, it doesn't matter your circumstance, you will love her in a way that you never thought you could.

The emotional rollercoaster you are getting into is just about to start, and you need to be as prepared as you can. There is a difference between reading and living; but if you know what to expect, you are going to be able to separate your own emotional comings and goings from your mama bear instinct; it is very important for you and your baby's health and well being that you manage to do it.

Why? Let me tell you something that you might already know, or maybe not: when you have a problem, that problem looks for a way to express itself and you start feeling physically bad and even get sick. I am quite sure that almost everybody got that part. But there is still the counterpart of this situation. When you feel physically out of balance for any reason, for example because of being sleep deprived, or hormonal mess up (remember PMS?) you might look for and find an emotional problem to guilt for the way you are feeling. You are going to start creating problems that didn't exist before, or were not so important.

You need to put a good deal of effort in separating the emotional mess that comes from physical discomfort, from your real emotional situations from now on. This is in the root of most of the problems related with baby's blues and issues with your partner during the adaptation process with your baby; the relation with your baby is so incredibly strong, that your emotional problems can harm him. About your partner... like most men can't read our mind or our emotional map, the relationship can be damaged and your invented problems will become very real.

So, lay low. Read as much as you can, prepare yourself for the marathon of the first year of your baby; and if you feel that your partner is not doing enough, think it twice before releasing the dogs on him. Try to find a way to talk about what you need from him instead of blaming him for not doing it. Make him your knight in shiny armor and you, him and your baby will be buying tickets to a happy life together.

Great Content, A Subscriber list, the Answer

I write articles and am always submitting them to these article directories and have always thought that it would be great if I could build one of these but the problem has always been getting people to post articles into these article directories. I first triad ArticleDashboard which you can get for free but then you have to configure it yourself, You can pay the developers $50 to do this and another $25 to sell you a database of 3,000 articles.

I found a product by David Zohar called articledirectorypro which for $67 you get an installer plus some nice bonuses which I tried myself at www.nosugarcoating.net/Articles which looks great but there was still the problem of getting articles. When you have an article directory you are always getting fresh content that the search engines love and I was thinking of offering new publishers on my site some great free products for posting articles but then I was still looking at an expense for advertising the site plus this would still take some time before I would start seeing writers posting their articles.

I finally found an answer to all this at a cost of less than $50. Some days I would see only a couple hundred new articles while other days I would see over a thousand new articles. I have looked at my stats and I have seen 7 bots spidering my site at least once per day. Plus I have several imbedded affiliate links and Google Adsense ads on every page which change based on the content of each article. My new site is www.always-free-content.com and currently there are over 6,000 articles plus a list of publishers of over 1,600. You can't go wrong with this from any point that I have discovered.

SEO. Getting Websites Indexed And Keeping Them Indexed.

Many web publishers, both new and seasoned alike, are in the dark about getting their sites indexed in the search engines and keeping them there. While in the past webmasters were able to throw up sites with no real value and manipulate the system to get them ranked, today's landscape is vastly different.

The same "tricks" that previously worked will now get you banned faster than you can say "banned". But, now even trying to work within the misty guidelines set out by the search engines themselves can also leave you penalized and scratching your head. Over-optimization can cause your site to drop in the rankings and even disappear altogether. Look no further than Google's "sandbox" for proof of a deliberate effort to punish publishers for trying to make an end run around them with SEO work.

Incoming links were long considered a measure of a site's popularity, and the search engines regarded them as such as well. But, as publishers with dubious intentions began instituting links pages with the sole purpose of raising their site's popularity and ranking, these same links can now have a negative impact. Reciprocal links MUST have relevant sources. If your site is one that deals with pizza, links from gambling sites will only hurt you.

Some of those nefarious aforementioned "tricks" that are NOT preferred and mostly likely will get you banned:

Cloaking - Showing a version of a web page to users, and a different one to search engines with the intention of getting ranked.

Hidden Text - Repeating keywords to improve ranking in the search engines, and having those keywords be the same color as the background.

Duplicate Content - Creating multiple pages with the same content to draw in more visitors.

Doorway Pages - Pages not created for visitors but for search engines.

Redirects - Getting a web page listed under a search query that is not relevant, by redirect.

The SEO Golden Rule of one search engine: "If you attempt to get a web page ranked ... for a search query that is not related to the topic of the web page then you run a high risk of having that page banned."

The one lesson in all of this is to stop relying on tactics and tricks. Return to the days of informative well-written content. Your site is there to provide some service, remember that and focus on it. As far as we are concerned, the one Golden Rule should be this: "Keep Users In Mind."

The Changing Face Of Live Tournament Poker

An all-time record was established at the 2006 World Series of Poker when an impressive 8,773 players registered to compete in the $10,000 buy-in Texas hold em event. At the end of four days of intensive play, the field had been cut to nine remaining players who made it to the final table and would vie for the WSOP Championship. Who were these players? They were not the high profile players that were expected to be at that final table. In fact, four time bracelet winner Allen Cunningham of Las Vegas was probably the most recognizable face.

The eventual winner was a comparative neophyte, Jaime Gold, a former theatrical agent from Malibu, California. What happened to the battle-hardened old pros, the Doyle Brunsons, David Negreanu, Greg Raymer, Huck Seed and Joseph Hachem among so many others? None of them even came close to the final table this year.

Obviously, the face of tournament play is changing. At one time internet poker players and inexperienced face-to-face tournament players tended to become reckless and were quickly eliminated, not fully understanding the strategies and disciplines involved in so-called deep stack poker, which in effect means playing in a tournament that involves a lot of chips.

It now seems obvious that a new breed of newcomer to the world of tournament poker is emerging to challenge the seasoned professionals. Nolan Dalla, World Series of Poker Media Director, who co-authored a biography of the late and legendary poker star Stu Unger, is of the opinion that these new competitors with surprisingly high skill levels and sophistication of play are the result of professional poker wannabes taking full advantage of the countless poker teaching tools available in books, on the internet and various tutorials on DVD that can be purchased by mail. Besides, players can hone their skills playing for small stakes, or even with play money at the numerous online poker sites, gradually improving their skills without the pressures encountered in big-time poker tournaments.

If any further proof is needed that the playing level of these newcomers is strong, and that they have the know-how to compete at the highest rung of the tournament poker ladder, dealing with the pressures and exhibiting the discipline needed to win at deep stack play, take note of what the chip amounts were per player on the final tables next to last day.

UK Resident Doctors and Dentists - Are You Planning Your Financial Future Or Being Sold Policies?

There are really only two types of services you can choose from when getting help with planning your finances, although some financial advisers do not offer both.

The key question you should ask yourself is which one is best:

Financial Advice or Financial Planning?

Clients that get financial advice often end up treating their financial programme like a shopping trip. They simply progress through life collecting policies. It is very much an event driven exercise.

For example, you may have children so you buy some life assurance or see an advert and buy an investment policy etc.

Because it is event driven the advice is reactive/problem solving, and will almost always result in a policy being sold to you (or doing the research yourself and you buying the policy without advice).

The problem with this is that there isnt any form of measurement that takes place until its too late. You reach the checkout, i.e. retirement, and have to hope you have enough in your trolley to last you for the rest of your life.

Or worse, something goes wrong on the way to the checkout illness, accident etc and you have to rummage in the trolley in the hope that you have something in there to deal with the problem.

In simple terms it is a retail service and the people that provide it get paid according to what they sell (assuming they are paid by commission and not by fees from you).

Having said that, a financial advice service may be appropriate for your needs now before you progress to a more comprehensive financial planning service.

Financial Planning is much simpler and more effective.

The first step is to work out what your objectives are, making sure you spend time to work out both your needs and your wants. The next step is to work out how far all your existing plans and investments will go towards achieving your objectives.

Cashflow forecasting software is then used to build the framework of your financial plan, marrying up your objectives with your current and future sources of income.

Cashflow modelling is crucial as it gives your Financial Planner a context within which advice can be provided because it highlights any areas of vulnerability. More importantly, it gives you a context within which you can make decisions as the effects of various scenarios can be modelled.

This could be termed your own financial map for the future. On many occasions clients are better off than they imagined and surprised with the results, meaning they can make more accurate financial decisions.

As you can probably see, financial planning is much more proactive and holistic/comprehensive. The problem is that it only works properly if it is impartial. You need to have the confidence that all your options have been considered; writing a will for Inheritance Tax planning versus purchasing an insurance product is a good example of this.

Indeed, it may be the case that you already have enough money to achieve your goals in life so the best strategy may be to spend more.

Equally, if by measuring your worth against your objectives it is shown to be a very rosy picture, you could reduce the risk with your existing investments. This protects you from the volatility present in many portfolios.

Commission or Fees?

If your adviser only got paid if they sold you a policy, you may well question the impartiality. Even more worrying is that ongoing reviews and monitoring is essential to make sure your planning remains on track.

If your adviser only gets paid when he/she sells you something, can you really rely on the ongoing attention to your planning needs?

The Financial Tips Bottom Line:

So to summarise, financial planning is more proactive, holistic and comprehensive, and may be a more appropriate proposition for your needs than financial advice. Getting impartial advice is the key, and this can be achieved with a fee based financial planning service. If you deal with an adviser, remember to ask them what financial planning services they offer.

If they only provide a financial advice service, maybe it's time to interview other advisers that DO offer the type of service that you're looking for.

How Solo Entrepreneurs Can Create Their First First Website for Under $100 Per Year

Many solo service professionals who are venturing online for the first time don't have a great of time or capital to invest in a website. Most want something quick, easy and simple at the beginning. The quickest type of website to create is what I call a brochure web site. In many ways, it resembles a printed business brochure with an overview of who you are, what you do, whom you serve, and how to contact you. It's a quick, inexpensive way to gain an online presence.

Here's the process and technology needed to get you started on your first website:

1. Research your competition. If you don't already know know who comprises your competition, this is a great time to learn about them. Go to your favorite search engine and type in keywords that someone might use when looking for a business like yours. If you serve a local clientele, don't forgot to include your location in your keyword search.

Check out the websites that appear on the front page. What do you like about what you see? What doesn't appeal to you? What do you offer that is different than their offerings? Use these sites as a starting point for designing your own. This is not an invitation for you to plagiarize the content on another site. That content is copyrighted by the owner of the site and you can cause yourself a great deal of harm by lifting the content on one site and transferring it to your own. You should use what you discover as a model for developing a site that is very uniquely you.

2. Map out the pages on your site. Most brochures sites for service businesses start with 5 pages: Home, Services, Resources (or Free Stuff), About Us, and Contact. These five areas are a great beginning that answers the who, what, where, why, and WIIFM (what's in it for me--your visitor) questions about your business. After publishing your initial site, you may want to add an FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) page to answer all those repetitive questions you get via email or phone calls, as well as a testimonials page so that you visitor can read about how you've helped other clients.

3. Use a hosting service that provides template websites. While an attractive initial website can be created by a web designer for as little as $350, that is still more than many solo entrepreneurs want to spend. When I created my first web site, I designed it from scratch using a very low cost website design program and free graphic resources available online. I then had some custom work done and was very dissatisfied with the results. From there I moved on to using pre-made templates for Microsoft Frontpage and have been using customized versions of those since that time for all of my sites.

However, while a customized template can be purchased for as little as $150, you still have to invest time into learning some web design program, which is a greater investment than most solo entrepreneurs want to make. That's why I suggest that many of my clients use a company providing hosting as well as an online interface for website design, creation, and updates. This type of service enables anyone who's familiar with a Microsoft Word to log in and create content, add images, and add pages to their very own website. The major providers of this type of service include GoDaddy, Yahoo Small Business, 1and1 Web Hosting. Another reputable company, SiteSell.com offers another all-one-option, but it's considerably more expensive than the others I have listed.

At a minimum, the services that you'll want in your hosting/design package include: hosting for 1 domain, 5 GB of space, 200 GB of monthly transfer volume (tied to how many visitors your site has), at least 100 templates to pick from in the website builder, 10 email accounts, 10 MB storage per email account, 24/7 support, and basic website statistics.

The downsides of this service are 1. you may end up with a website that looks like others online who've used this same service/template, and 2. the site design belongs to your hosting company, so you can't take the website with you if you choose to change hosting companies. However, once you've become more familiar with what's involved in designing a site, you can decide to further customize it or upgrade to a custom designed site at any point in time.

4. Determine the look and feel you want to convey. Are you serious or playful? Are your clients other businesses or consumers? What colors appeal to you? Make sure that your site is a good representation of your personality. This is part of the online relationship building that you're beginning, so you should love the look of your site and feel good about visitors being there.

5. Make your site unique. This is tough to accomplish when you're using a template site, but try changing the graphic that's provided as a part of the template. Some of the companies will have a graphics library from which to choose. Or, you can get a short-term subscription to a clip art website like ClipArt.com or buy royalty-free images for as little as $1 each at DreamsTime.com. You can also have a business logo designed to upload onto the site. I've used LogoRama.com with great success.

6. Persuasive content. Remember, people visit websites because they have a problem to solve. Visitors to your website will decide to hang around and browse through your site based on how well you answer the following:

Who am I and why am I qualified to do what I do?

Who is my target market? What are their problems?

Do I fully understand and offer solutions to those problems?

You've got less than 10 seconds to capture a visitor's attention. So, it's imperative that you're speaking directly to your target market on your site and that they get a good sense of who you are and what you offer so that they can get to know, like, and trust you and eventually buy from you. If you're not clear and confuse them, they'll be gone in a flash.

7. Create a contact capturing device. To make the most of your traffic, you need a contact capturing device to gather the name and email addresses of your visitors to begin to create a contact list. Typically this is done by offering visitors the opportunity to join your mailing list, subscribe to your email newsletter, get a freebie you're giving away. You can use an email broadcast program to do this for you, like EzineDirector.com or ConstantContact.com, through a discussion list program like GoogleGroups or YahooGroups, through a shopping cart program like Kickstart Cart, or a sequential autoresponder company like aWeber.

Pick wisely when you choose your contact capturing service. You want your subscriber to opt-in just once to your list. Any change of providers will force your list to opt-in again to your list at a new service, and you can anticipate losing at least 50% of your list when you change providers. Your contact list is your online gold mine, so make it as easy as possible for you to stay in contact with them.

8. Plan for future upgrades. Will you eventually sell products online? Get a service that permits an upgrade to an ecommerce package. What about blogging? Are you interested in creating podcasts? Do you want to create an online discussion forum? How about an RSS feed of the articles you write? Begin to think now about what your marketing plans will be a year from now, and invest in a service that will allow you to add services as you become more savvy to Internet marketing techniques.

Creating your first website doesn't have to be a daunting nor expensive task. Here's a summary of yearly costs if you follow the plan outlined above: Domain purchase/renewal $10, Website Design/Hosting Package $70, Short-term subscription to clip art site: $16, and Online contact management service: $0 (up to 250 subscribers). Total cost: $96. If your business isn't yet online, now you've got an easy, inexpensive plan to create your online presence.

Golf Tips - Top 10

I hope you enjoy my golf playing tips. This is my top 10 list of sorts; it contains helpful insights into the game of golf and the psyche it requires. Remember to read this with a grain of salt (around the rim preferably).

1) This is a game, only a game, it is not war and your neighbor is not the enemy. This should go without saying but feuds have begun and never ended over the exciting sport of golf. You should especially keep this in mind when playing your boss, there is no shame in letting your boss win.

2) The only person you should ever really play against is yourself. It sounds silly, but keep your old score cards; take note of improvements and declines (while everyone has a bad day a consistent decline could indicate a problem with your game). If you play only against yourself there really cant be any hard feelings when the game is over.

3) The looser always buys the beer. This works well if you are playing against yourself as I recommended. That way you are only buying beer for one. It makes for a much cheaper date.

4) If all seems lost and you have no club that will get the job done, a good nice kick could be in order (enough said).

5) Save the beer for the clubhouse and not the course. Hot beer tastes bad and you should never, ever drink and drive. You also never want to drive backwards on a golf course (see number 7).

6) The ducks on the driving range are not for target practice. Besides if you start aiming for them, the other birds might start aiming for you.

7) Let faster players go on ahead of you, especially in the beginning, besides its always better to be behind in golf, most people dont shoot backwards if you know what I mean.

8) If you are having a bad round of golf, start playing silly shots. You just might find your game improves when you stop being too serious. Seriously.

9) Be considerate of those around you. Wear a belt and tuck in your shirt please. No one wants to see a full moon in the middle of the afternoon, especially one that is reflected by the sun.

10) Unless you want to be the take and bake of the day, be sure you pack your sunscreen. Lobster is great on the menu, not on the golf course. Besides we deal with enough pain on the course without adding to it.

I hope you realize that my top 10 list is somewhat tongue in cheek. There are however some pearls of wisdom in there, particularly about the ducks. My overall point is that golf, while challenging is supposed to be recreational. In other words, youre supposed to have fun. I hope my little list reminds you of that very fact and you think of this the next time you are getting ready for a game of golf (particularly as you dress, see number 9).

Read Hotel Reviews Before Making A Reservation

Before you schedule your vacation in uncharted areas, try to find hotel reviews that can give you an idea of what you will be getting into. Many times travel websites will allow previous users to post their experiences of a particular hotel on the site where potential guests can find out if the facility is going to be right for them.

Quite often pictures posted on the internet about hotels do not exactly match what the hotel actually looks like and if you do not find hotel reviews on that particular place, you could be in for a surprise when you arrive. Typically, hotel reviews offer information about cleanliness of the facility, the friendliness of the staff, the price compared to the quality of the hotel as well as the overall opinion the visitor has of their most recent stay.

Be sure to look for signs that the persons leaving hotel reviews are not allowing their opinion of the overall trip be focused on the hotel alone in hopes of receiving a refund or other form of restitution when none is truly deserved. If one review out of 10 claims the hotel was filthy with rude staff and nine have nothing bad to say, it could an indication that one person is attempting to get something back from the hotel.

Get What You Pay For With Hotels

Regardless of where you travel there will be different standards for hotels, which will be reflected in the pricing. Many times a person will book a cheap hotel, expect the same amenities available in a high price location, and then post hotel reviews complaining about the quality. While every visitor deserves cleanliness and friendly employees, the amenities in a cheap hotel will not be of the same standard as those in a more expensive location.

Most travel sites will offer hotel reviews by stars, typically from zero to four with a four star rating being the best and one star hotel reviews advising you that by spending more money you will probably get more enjoyment from your stay. You should also consider the location of the hotel you are looking at and if the price is considerably less than surrounding facilities, that could be a hint that it will not be a four star unit.

You should also return the favor once you return from your trip by writing an honest review of the place at which you stayed. Be sure to be totally honest with any hotel reviews you leave as there may be other people depending on how you state your experience in making their decision of where to stay.

Definition of Site Build It

Site Build It is a very successful web host on the Internet. It is really much more than just a web host. Here is the definition of Site Build It.

Writing a definition of Site Build It is a challenge since it is so many different things combined under one name. To define SBI, I prefer to step back away from the Internet and the technology and define it as a business model or business system. There are several definitions of system:

* a group of independent but interrelated elements comprising a unified whole.
* a procedure or process for obtaining an objective
* organization: an ordered manner; orderliness by virtue of being methodical and well organized.
* a group of elements, components, or devices that are assembled to serve a common purpose. In a technological system, this refers to all hardware, software, networks, cables, peripheral equipment, information, data, personnel, and procedures (ie, all technology resources) that comprise a computer environment.

All of these apply to SBI. Too many people only associate SBI with web hosting. In their minds, SBI provides memory on a server, bandwidth for access, and software to create and post web pages for access on the Internet. SBI is so much more than that. It is a system or method for creating successful businesses. It just happens that the Internet is the medium used to make these businesses successful.

Another definition of a system is a collection of people, processes, procedures, and equipment working in unison to achieve a goal. This definition also applies to SBI.

* The people are the owners of the SBI sites and the SBI staff working as one to maximize the results for the web site owner and make a profit for SBI.
* The processes are composed of the structured market research before a domain name can be selected, the structured brainstorming and development of keywords for the future website, the 10 day Action Guide in written or video format for developing the successful business, the monetization module for finding the best methods to generate income from traffic to the website, the SBI forums where SBI owners help and are helped. This structure makes SBI the ideal business model for an inexperienced person.
* The procedures are the rules for using the SBI hosting hardware and software. SBI hosting is a controlled procedure. It does not allow server side applications and limits the types of files it will host. However, this structure allows SBI to monitor the activity of the search engine spiders, monitor search engine page rank, automatically update RSS feeds, automatically update site maps, and provides many more benefits to the SBI website owner.
* The equipment is composed of the personal computer of the SBI website owner and the equipment in the web hosting data center plus all the Internet communication equipment that connects the two and the rest of the world.

The key point to take away from this article- SBI is a business system, not just a web host. For more information, download my free ebook at http://www.sbi-guru.com I wish you well with building your future website.

Making your Website look Like a Butterfly

A well designed web-site is like a butterfly , it is beautiful and you have an irresistible urge to watch it, check it out see if you can fathom its meaning.. That is your goal in building a website.

You have to come as close as you can to creating that feeling when potential customers look at your first page , you want, you need to have them take a good hard look at your site.

So Sarah , How do I do that ? Well I am going to go over the basic but I also Have free resource you can just pop an email to me with he subject title Web Mastery and will Send you a free E-book that goes into a fair amount of detail on how and what you need to accomplish but the basics are here.

Before you get started you have several tasks and items to procure or obtain, you will need a

Domain name
Hosting company
Either a WYSIWYG editor
or An all in one package such as bravenet.com
A course on HTML
Decide if you are going to build your site your self

Once you have decided on these very basic first issues you then have to decide on how your ste4 will be built as a minin site one or two pages , A content site like this one about ten pages or a full fledged affiliate site with multiple tens of pages.

Then what is your niche? what appeals to your customer base - this is when you need to do lots and lots of research to get it clear in your mind as to what will best suit your market niche.

On Items 1-6 I would recommended that you bite the bullet and really learn how to build a website - that means you buy a product like FrontPage or XsitePro and you use the WYSIWIG editior (what you see is waht you get) If you are going to be in this business then be in it and take the time and invest the energy to learn at the very least how to build a site

IF you select either package you do not need any sort of html editor, it is built in to the e package as far as cost goes XsitePro is approx 249.00 I purchased my copy of front page form surplussoftware.com for 89.00 I have seen it as low as 59.00

I purchased a Book from Barnes and Nobel that came with a great cd tutorial for 24.95 so I could have been building my site for approx 85.00 not bad.

Now you need to buy a domain name and I strongly suggest you buy it from or through your hosting company- if not you will be stuck for 60 days before you can transfer the name to another host company , A really good hosting company is hosting revolution - Their 20..00 per year plan is more than adequate to get you u and to run your first several sites.

The first thing to remember is that your website is a reflection of who you are and your target market. Before you can begin the process of building a website you will need to get a registered domain name and a host company to put your site on the internet. You then have to decide how you will accomplish the sometimes arduous task of constructing the site.

Something you should be aware of because I was not when I started this process. I purchased domain names from one provider who will call Company A, (I shopped for low price) I repeated the process of looking for a low priced alternative for hosting. We will call them company B.

I then tried to transfer my new domain names from company A to company B. Well they tried for several days to accomplish the transfer and they were repeatedly told the domains were locked by myself and I spent several very frustrating days working with Company A to transfer the domains. Then I found out that when you first buy or renew a domain name with a specific registrar the domain has to stay with them for sixty days.

If someone had been able to inform me of that before I shopped for the best price and thinking just how intelligent I was then I would have saved myself over two weeks of working on nothing but the transfer of these names.

That's how I did it the first time My total investment was less than 150.00 and I built my first site with FrontPage and the tutorial.

7 Tips for Comforting a Crying Baby

You have just taken your baby home from the hospital and it is one of the happiest days of your life. Well, not if you are having a difficult time comforting your crying baby. Many parents get overly concerned that there is something wrong with their baby because she is crying.

The truth is, babies cry! Even when your baby is perfectly happy, they may still cry. Babies are wonderfully complex human beings that we all want to make happy.

Babies cry sometimes because they want food, need a diaper, just want to be held, and sometimes they cry for no reason at all. That is the difficult part for many new parents. As a parent, you automatically want your child to feel better and stop crying.

Here are a few helpful hints:

1. Relax - Your baby will be able to sense that you are stressed. Learn to relax even when she is screaming. Your ability to relax will be passed on to her. She will feel your body relax.

2. Necessities - Make sure all her essential needs have been met. Even if she was just fed, she might still be hungry. Don't deny a baby food, she knows when she needs more! If she is hungry, feed her again. It is ok to feed her again; babies go through periods of growth spurts when they may eat every hour, especially if they are breastfed.

3. Dad - If mom has been trying to calm baby for awhile and it is not working, let dad have a go at it. Sometimes, the deep soothing voice of a father can get a baby right out of her crying spell.

4. Vacuum - Yep, vacuum. The loud constant sound of a vacuum is actually very soothing to a baby. At first, it may startle her, but the continuous sound will quickly send her off to la la land.

5. Rocking - An old-fashioned rocking chair works wonders for an upset baby. Just give her a few minutes to settle into the motion and she may be asleep before you know it.

6. Let her be - This is a really hard one for new parents. Sometimes your baby just does not want to be held. Your rocking, swaying, and talking could actually be making her more upset. Try setting her down in her crib. Give her a few minutes and see if she isn't a little happier.

7. Relax Again - It cannot be stressed enough that your baby knows what you are feeling. She can sense that your heart rate is up and that you are feeling overwhelmed. Take a few deep breaths and try to get your blood pressure down.

Getting a crying baby to stop crying does not have to be your goal of parenting. Yes, there are times that your child will be crying for a reason. More often, though, she will be crying because of gas, over stimulation, or no reason at all. Try the above techniques and see if they help you through your baby's next crying spell.

Striking Keyword Gold

Keywords are all the buzz these days, but the migration of keywords from what they were a year or two years ago to where they are now is a different thing altogether. Authors, entrepreneurs and business owners know they need keywords in their web site, in their press releases and in their articles but they dont often know how to find these keywords or what the best keywords are to use.

When your web designer says to you: Pick your keywords for your web site the first thing you think of are the root or gut feel keywords. These are almost always wrong. Why? Lets dig into this further and find out.

Lets say youre looking for a doctor. Are you going to go online and search for the keyword: Doctor Doubtful. Youll probably go online and search for doctor + internal medicine + San Diego, meaning that you want to find a doctor in your specific area and for your focused needs. If, as the doctor, you used the keyword doctor youd end up with a mishmash of traffic to your site and, if you were using these keywords for articles or press releases, neither of those would bring up much in the search engines.

Why keywords?

The long tail has really forced us to dig further into our markets than ever before. In fact research has shown that regardless of the type of search someone is conducting, a consumer who uses focused, finite language is much more likely to buy than a search based on gut feel words. Let me give you an example.

Lets say youre looking for a red car, you want a new car and it has to be red. On a fluke you think: Hey, Lexus makes a nice ride, let me see what comes up when I do a quick search. So you plug in the keywords: red + Lexus, what do you find? A hodgepodge of sites related to everything from the Lexus that someone is trying to sell on eBay to the guy so in love with his car hes created a MySpace page about it.

Chances are it doesnt really matter because you werent that interested in the red car to begin with. But if you search on more finite terms, lets say red + Lexus + 4WD + sunroof, now were talking a consumer who is 95% closer to a buy than the guy Googling red + Lexus. In order for you to find your audience in the maze of traffic and the enormity of messages online, youll need to get very, very focused.

Getting clear, getting focused

So how can you get focused? Well first, why not try surveying your customers or readers? Ask them to fill in a quick little survey and see what search terms come to mind when they think of your book, message, or product (to get more buy in to this survey, offer them a freebie if they do it).

Other ways to gain access to keywords are keyword search tools like Wordtracker and Overture. Both of these sites have a learning curve and Wordtracker does have a monthly fee (but if you have all your data together they offer a free one day trial that might get you started). But buyer beware! According to AMEs keyword expert, Susan Gilbert: If you go to http://inventory.overture.com and type in your keyword, you will get the results from search in Yahoo for that term only for the prior month.

"However, these numbers are not accurate.(Every time someone types a keyword into yahoo for SEO purposes, it counts as a search). Search numbers are only part of the equation, however. You have to evaluate the "results" aspect (how many pages of information are available in that search engine for that term). It's finding the perfect relationship between a keyword that has enough searches with low(er) competition that will tell you the best keyword terms for your purpose.

As youre navigating through a site like Overture, they key is to look for supply vs. demand. Ideally you want a keyword thats being searched on that doesnt have a ton of supply. Lets take the diet industry as an example, if youre trying to promote your message of diet and healthy living, using the word diet in your article, press release or web site keywords probably wont get you much ranking. Why? Well everyone in this market is using this same word, but if you dig even further into this market youll find that the search term: Lose weight fast is getting a lot of searches but very few returns. When thats the case those are the keywords you want to zero in on.

So how do you know if your keywords are working? Test them. Youll see very quickly if theyre working or if theyre too general to matter. Sometimes the only way you can find out is if you test, test, test. Web 2.0 strategies are always growing, building and changing. And speaking of changing, you might wonder how long keywords will last. Well, that depends. According to Gilbert: Keywords could work for months or years. There's no telling because the WWW is constantly filled with new sites and new information. Use the keywords immediately, and for as long as you are getting results.

Once you finalize your keywords youll want to use them, but not overuse them. Id recommend using your keywords in the article or press release title, then once in the first paragraph and once in the last paragraph. This will tie in your words nicely without overusing them.

The key with keywords is to understand that the more focused you can get, the better your results will be. Yes, its a lot of work but the benefits can be enormous and like anything on the Net, its growing and changing and if you can adapt and learn, you can grow your campaigns and your success!

Why Not Obtain Your Business Degree Online?

For any young person wondering what type of training they should venture into or what profession will supply them with a long-term, solid career, obtaining a business degree online may be the perfect solution to avoid many situations others face in their lives.

Finding a job in today's competitive markets isn't easy. First-time job seekers can be overwhelmed by the requirements companies are asking in their employment advertisements and need to know they have the education to back up their value to any business. People working at a good job without having finished college might one day face company reorganization and find themselves lacking employment. Having enough credentials and qualifications to land a new job that pays the same salary is very important. Some individuals choose a career and get the education they need, and then discover they don't enjoy the chosen profession.

Whatever the reason for needing a solid degree or for wanting to increase the education you already have, obtaining a business degree online is a great choice that gives you plenty of opportunity to train in a strong profession at your own pace and to explore building up employment experience at the same time. Online degrees allow you to earn credits and get instruction from the comfort of your own home and at the hours or days you choose to study, leaving you with plenty of spare time to pursue other ventures or personal interests. Many people can't afford to take years off work to earn their college degree and online education allows individuals to study part-time and hold a job that brings income at the same time.

Certainly, our information-packed, technological world has changed the face of training and instruction, with educational facilities responding to people's needs. Whereas in the past, distance education had a negligible reputation that wasn't always recognized, nowadays top schools and universities are offering online courses and degree programs that every employer considers an asset. For example, individuals can pursue a business degree online in the areas of private sector account, human resources management, business administration, health care and criminal justice. Degrees in these fields are very valuable to businesses and corporations, almost guaranteeing secure, high-paying employment.

Individuals interested in pursuing a business degree online definitely save in the expenses area, making this type of obtaining education a cost-effective one. There are no travel expenses or lodging costs related to online learning, and all any individual needs to receive online instruction is a computer. Keeping education costs low means that students incur far less debt, a big advantage versus those individuals who stay on campus or who commute to their educational facilities. Also, the opportunity to continue working without packing a part-time job into weekends means that many students can support themselves while earning their business degree online. The financial considerations of online and distance education make the choice of how and where to study an easy decision.

Of course, pursuing higher education and working towards a business degree online means that individuals need to ensure that other factors don't disrupt obtaining their credits. Having a quiet environment to study is important, and individuals with families need to set aside a place where they won't be disturbed. Also, dedication, motivation and self-control is also a large factor in online education procrastinating personalities and individuals who find it difficult to function outside of a controlled environment, such as scheduled classes and professor-assigned tasks, should not venture into distance education. But for most people, the goals of a solid degree and strong credentials is plenty enough motivation and the long-term results of a good career are well worth the efforts!
